The Bujinkan | 武神館

There is an endless amount of information necessary to convey a fulfilling picture of the Bujinkan, but we will stick to basic ideas.

The Bujinkan is a traditional Japanese martial arts system comprised of nine martial arts. Most of these are Ninjutsu and other Samurai derived lineages. The origin of these school date back immemorable times. Some, embedded in mystery, were kept restricted only for a few practitioners, other were part of high military cast of the Imperial army through the century. In time, via a ramification of transmissions, Bujinkan's grandmaster Masaaki Hatsumi Sensei had received all these schools, and have collected them under the name Bujinkan Ninpo Taijutsu.

The aim of the art

The principles of Ninjutsu are centered around the idea of avoiding conflict at all costs or resolving conflicts in the most peaceful manner possible. The objective of the Bujinkan is not to learn how to fight or become an expert at performing techniques, but rather to find unity with nature through hard training and to cultivate a loving and pure heart

All the arts shared in our dojo are taught in their original form in order to achieve their purpose, as per one of the basic principles: 'San Shin' (or trilogy), which refers to 'The Three Hearts' – for heaven, earth, and mankind.

Versatility

Differently from other martial arts based solely on striking, grappling, or weapon defense, the Bujinkan teaches various approaches and how to deal with all kinds of opponents. Whether dealing with armed or unarmed situations, it teaches how to overcome conflicts (ideally peacefully) without requiring strength, athleticism, and is equally effective regardless of age, gender, strength, or physical abilities.
